Soft activewear is not one category
Beyond Yoga, Vuori and lululemon each describe soft fabrics, but their leggings and joggers differ in shape, intended movement and care. Read the product details before choosing.

This comparison uses official product descriptions and care labels; it is not a wear test or a claim that one fabric performs best. Product details checked October 2, 2026.
“Buttery soft” appears so often in activewear that it can stop being useful. What matters after that first touch is the garment's shape, the movement it was designed around and the laundry instructions you will follow week after week.
Start with the garment, not the fabric nickname
Beyond Yoga's Spacedye Caught In The Midi legging has a 28-inch inseam, a five-inch waistband and gentle compression. The brand presents it for activities from Pilates to walks. Its Spacedye fabric is a polyester-elastane blend; the care label says machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and tumble dry low.
Vuori's Performance Jogger is a different shape: relaxed through the leg, tapered at the cuff, with a 25-inch inseam and pockets. Vuori lists DreamKnit as a recycled-polyester and elastane fabric, and instructs washing cold with like colors, turning the garment inside out and drying low. If your priority is a loose layer for travel or errands, the jogger silhouette may matter more than comparing fabric names.
lululemon says its Align pant is designed for yoga and low-impact movement. The brand describes Nulu as soft and weightless, with four-way stretch, and lists cold machine washing and low tumble drying. It also offers several inseam lengths and versions with pockets. The exact version is worth checking: a pocket, seam or length can change daily usefulness even within one collection.
Put the activity into plain words
Think about what you will do in the garment. Sitting for a long journey, stretching in a studio, walking outdoors and training hard are not interchangeable situations. The brand descriptions above support a comparison of intended uses and construction; they do not prove how a fabric will feel on your body or perform in an activity it was not designed for.
Measure waist, hip and inseam against each brand's size guide. Check whether you prefer gentle compression or a relaxed leg, whether you need a phone pocket, and whether the waistband stays comfortable when you sit. A product photo cannot answer those questions for you, but its specifications can help narrow the options before you try it on.
Softness is a good first impression. Shape, intended use and care are what make a piece easy to wear repeatedly.
